Understanding Veneers
Veneers are thin, custom-made shells crafted from tooth-colored materials. Made of porcelain or composite resin, veneers are designed to cover the front surface of teeth. They are an ideal choice for improving your smile by correcting a range of dental flaws and cosmetic imperfections.
Aesthetic Enhancement
Veneers dramatically improve the appearance of your teeth by covering stains, chips, and gaps. They are crafted to match the natural color of your teeth or can be whiter if you desire a brighter smile. No matter your preferences, we can find the solution for you.
Durability and Protection
Both porcelain and composite veneers are durable and long-lasting. They provide a protective layer over your natural teeth, which can help prevent further wear and potential damage.
Minimal Preparation
Veneers require minimal tooth preparation compared to crowns or other dental procedures. This makes them a less invasive option that preserves more of your natural tooth structure.
Signs It’s Time to Consider Veneers
If your teeth are stained or discolored and resistant to whitening treatments, veneers can provide a whiter smile permanently.
Veneers can cover and protect chipped or broken teeth, improving their appearance and preventing further damage.
For those who have gaps and are looking for a fast and less invasive option compared to braces, veneers can be an excellent choice.
If your teeth are irregularly shaped or uneven, veneers can provide a more uniform look.

Getting Started with Veneers
Initial Consultation
Your journey to a perfect smile begins with your complementary consultation at Doctor Patty Dental. Dr. Patty will evaluate your oral health and discuss your aesthetic goals. This assessment helps determine if veneers are suitable for you and which type would best meet your needs.
Preparation
For porcelain veneers, a small amount of enamel from the front of your tooth will be removed to make space for the veneers. This process is minimal and is carefully done to preserve as much of your natural tooth as possible. For composite veneers, less or no preparation is needed.
Impressions
Once your teeth are prepared, an impression will be taken and sent to a dental lab where your custom veneers will be crafted. For porcelain veneers, this process typically takes a few weeks during which you may be fitted with temporary veneers.
Final Application
When your veneers are ready, you'll return to our office for the final placement. Dr. Patty will ensure the fit, color, and shape match your other teeth and your expectations before permanently bonding them to your teeth.
For composite veneers, the resin is applied, shaped, and hardened in one visit without the need for lab work.
Follow-Up
After your veneers are placed, a follow-up visit is recommended to ensure your new smile is functioning well and you’re completely satisfied with the results.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the lifespan of veneers?
Porcelain veneers typically last between 10 to 15 years, while composite veneers last about 5 to 7 years, depending on your oral hygiene and care.
Are veneers reversible?
Veneers are considered a permanent treatment because a small amount of enamel is removed during the preparation. It's important to maintain them and follow good oral hygiene practices.
Do veneers require special care?
Veneers do not require special care beyond regular brushing, flossing, and dental check-ups. However, avoiding hard foods and not using your teeth as tools can help extend their lifespan.
How much do veneers cost?
The cost of veneers varies depending on the type and number of veneers you need. Dr. Patty Dental offers various payment and financing options to accommodate your budget.
Can anyone get veneers?
Most people are candidates for veneers, but those with severe dental decay, gum disease, or very thin enamel might need other treatments first.
